Mac Users
Please ensure you are always using the latest version.
Snow Leopard users MUST use version 1.5.x of I Can Animate.
I Can Animate version 1.5 uses the new Apple QTKit Capture APIs. This means that the old legacy sequence grabber is not well supported and the Hue relies on the older technology. The HUE manufacturers will need to write new drivers and/or possibly change the technology in their cameras in order for them to work on Snow Leopard. We have spent a lot of time sourcing compatible cameras and the new Agent V5 supports the new technologies. Version 1.4 is not affected
*No version 1.4 is not compatible with OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and a new download, Version 1.5 specifically for Leopard and Snow Leopard, is now available.
The recent QuickTime software update from Apple has resulted in a problem with the internal iSight. I Can Animate and some other applications seem to be affected. We have reported this to Apple who acknowledge their is a problem. We have since release a software update to overcome this issue. Please download the latest version of I Can Animate
This problem only seems to effect new Macs and the internal iSight. If you use an external camera such as a webcam or DV firewire or firewire camera you can continue to use I Can Animate.
It would appear that a recent software update from Apple has resulted in I Can Animate defaulting to the internal iSight camera, where present, even if the camera you want to use is connected through the firewire port.
You will need to follow the instructions outlined in this pdf file. Instead of choosing the iMage webcam from the list, choose the name of the camera that you have plugged in. At the moment you will need to do this each time you start up I Can Animate.
Yes, I Can Animate animations can be shared as a QuickTime movie or an iMovie project.
