Deploying I Can Animate to Mac OS X Networks

Step 1: Check the prerequisites

I Can Animate requires .Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

Please Download the latest version. We would always advise that you use the very latest version of i Can Animate. We cannot guarantee that the copy you might have on CD is the latest.

YOU ARE REQUIRED BY LAW TO ENSURE THAT YOU ARE LEGALLY ENTITLED TO INSTALL THIS SOFTWARE. PLEASE CHECK YOUR LICENCE.

Step 2: Install to a Computer

On one of your computers, ensuring that you are logged on with full administrator access rights, install I Can Animate .

After installing, run I Can Animate from the Applications folder.

Choose the I Can Animate menu at the top of the screen and select Register Software... from the menu that opens.

Enter you registration details, including the Serial number that you have purchased and confirm.

The software is now registered.

Step 3: Deploying on your Network

  1. In the normal way for your network, deploy I Can Animate to your client computers.

  2. You will also need to deploy the registration certificate to the correct location on each client computer. The certificate can be found at:

  3.      Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/I Can Animate/

  4. The file is called Registration and should not be modified in any way. It should be deployed to the same location on all client machines.

10.7, Lion Issues

        It has been brought to our attention that computers with a new Lion build might experience registration             difficulties. Once the software has been registered by the administrator, and a different user logs in the software informs the user that it is not registered.

We are currently investigating this. A quick fix is that a folder named I Can Animate needs to be created in;

    Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/

When the software is then registered the registration file is correctly deployed.

If you have already registered the software it is likely that the registration file has been created in the wrong location and will need to be moved. You will find the I Can Animate folder containing your registration file in the users Library.

~/Library/Application Support/

We suggest that you move this folder to;

Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/

Can’t see your Library folder?

Apple have decided for better security that these folder should be hidden from the end user.

It’s easy to make them visible. If you are familiar with Unix commands you can load Terminal and quickly make them visible.

If not then here is a little utility that you can download that will Hide/Unhide the Library folders for you.
