Outside broadcast
Weather Studio is a fantastic new application designed to bring your geography lessons and weather to life by allowing students to create, film and present their own weather forecasts.
Students begin by choosing the appropriate maps for their forecast, either from the Map Library or by importing a suitable image file.
Maps can then have all the correct symbols placed on them, and a script for the forecast written in the editing area. The range of maps and symbols means that as well as predicting the local weather, students can also report on the weather around the world.
Once completed, the filming can take place in front of a Chroma Screen (Green Screen) to allow the maps to be superimposed on, or choose the spilt screen option to film in front of any background, an outside broadcast for instance.
Text written for each map will scroll on the built in tele-prompt allowing users to put together a flawless broadcast, advancing onto a new map with a simple click on the mouse.
Weather Studio is ideal for building on cross-curricula ICT links including, teamwork, collaboration, speaking & listening and creative writing, and it's fun.
So, why not bring a real-life feeling to your Geography lessons and nurture the next generation of Weather presenters.
