Our PC installation CDs have both a Network and CC3 network folders for those wishing to install the software through a network.

The Network folder contains a .PDF file. This is not an Adobe PDF file and can not be viewed.

The file is a Microsoft Package definition file that contain scripts that you can use to help automate package creation with Configuration Manager 2007. They provide the essential information that Configuration Manager 2007 needs to distribute a particular type of file, except for the location of package source files. Each package definition file is an ASCII text file following a standard .ini file format.

To deploy using Active Directory, you will require an MST file containing the registration details for your application

This will ensure you do not need to visit each machine on the network to register the software after installation.

Kudlian Software have provided a bespoke MST generator to be used with our software titles.

Step 1: Generate an .MST

You need to generate an .MST (Microsoft Transform) file so that your registration details are copied to the client machines as part of the installation process. To do this, follow these steps:

• download our tool and run it.
• Click "Open package" and locate the .msi for the application you are installing.
• Enter your registration details. The tool will not check whether your serial number is correct, so make sure you write it exactly as it appears on your registration card.
• Click "Generate MST"

Step 2: Create a new Active Directory package

• Place the .msi and the .mst on a network share
• Create a new package in Active Directory, using the .msi. Select "Advanced" deployment method.
• On the "Modifications" tab, click add and locate the .mst
• Choose the remainder of the deployment options as you normally would.
